HAF Camps

HAF Camps

Dots

We’re proud to be working in partnership with the HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) Programme and Peterborough City Council to provide free holiday camps for eligible families, helping children stay healthy, active and engaged. Over years we’ve built strong relationships with local children, families and communities, and we’re passionate about making a real difference.

Our HAF camps are held during the Easter, Summer and Christmas holidays at various schools in Peterborough and every day is packed with fun, enriching experiences. We encourage children to stay active, grow in confidence, build friendships and develop a positive mindset – so they leave each day feeling happy, motivated and proud of themselves.

We love inspiring children to try new things. This not only supports brain development, but gives them a real sense of achievement and boosts their self-belief. Mental health is just as important to us as physical health, so we focus on both throughout our sessions.

Over the years, we’ve offered a huge range of enriching experiences at our HAF camps. From street arts, barbering, graffiti and BMX to freestyle football, drama, music and arts and crafts – we even let some children become a princess for the day!

We’ve taken children to Inflatanation, bowling, Ferry Meadows, the Lido, POSH, boxing gyms and on simple local walks that still give them brand new experiences. We’ve worked with dentists, ex-professional footballers, specialist goalkeeping coaches and local businesses to give young people something different, inspiring and memorable.

Last year, our HAF children also enjoyed preparing (and tasting, of course!) a healthy fruit salad. They’ve received goodies too – food hampers, books, Easter eggs, Christmas chocolates, YDP water bottles, t-shirts and lots of other prizes. Some of our multinational coaches have even taught the children the basics of a new language.

These experiences help build confidence, broaden horizons and create memories that really last.
To make it even more exciting, we also bring along a selection of our inflatables – giving children something fun to look forward to and an experience they’ll remember.

If your child is aged between 5-15 years old and is in receipt of benefit related school meals you can apply for one of our HAF camps here:  youthdreamsproject

“As a school we have been working closely with Youth Dreams project for nearly two years. They have provided well organised sessions, run by friendly and well qualified staff in a number of different sporting and fitness areas. I would highly recommend Luke and his team at YDP to anyone.”
Victoria Blackwell
Parent
“Youth Dreams Project have changed the usual average after school clubs and PE lessons, into fun, positive and motivational sessions that not only give children confidence but give them access to sports that would not normally be available in schools. The half term sports camps provide affordable childcare, which get my children active in team sports and activities. From Boxercise to dance – I could not fault the service and coaches.”
Werrington Primary School Head Teacher said
"Thanks for organising both events. Both were successful and well organised. Children enjoyed their games and had plenty of football – having a plate competition is a good idea."

"YDP are such an integral part of our school now that we couldn’t imagine our PE lessons without them. They ensure that all of our pupils are pushed to succeed in every sport and given the tools to compete in various events. They offer a wide array of competitions and clubs for everyone and adapt lessons to ensure a fun experience."
Matthew Van Lier
Principal, Stanground Academy
“YDP are now a fully integrated partner in our academy, they share our values and support the delivery of our vision. They have high expectations of themselves and the pupils who are enrolled on their courses. We work together in harmony and their innovative approach to pupil recruitment has assisted in the growth of our Sixth Form. We are delighted with the collaboration and look forward to the year ahead.”
Becky Dickson
Deputy Headteacher at St Thomas More
Since we have engaged with YDP, we have noted a significant improvement in the children being able to build relationships and work in partnership. The coaches spend time getting to know the pupils. They know what motivates and inspires them and use this knowledge to get the best out of the children. The pupils are engaged, enthused and are successful. The children look forward to their sessions all week and it provides a time for them to bond and develop their social skills and self-esteem! Thank you YDP!
Richard Lord
Principal, SIS Friedrichshafen
I have worked with YDP for ten years in three different schools both in the UK and in Germany. Our students have benefitted in a number of ways, from group work and mentoring to bespoke camps during the school holidays. The feedback that we continually receive from students, parents and teachers is emphatically positive, with the enthusiastic and can-do approach of the YDP team members always singled out. We look forward to working with YDP for many more years to come.
